Binghamton has always stood out in my mind as sort of the crossroads of New York.
You can take the highway north to Syracuse, west to Jamestown Rochester and Buffalo, south to Philly, east and then south down to NYC, east and then north to Albany. If you sales territory were the State of New York, Binghamton would be a nice play to be. But not today.
At least 12 dead, many more injured, gunman committed suicide.
This is a town of less than 50,000 full-time residents, but with a huge student population for its size (the former "SUNY Binghamton" now "Binghamton University" is there).
